Digital Music

You may not understand the feelings behind this poem if you have never listened to digital music, or what is referred to as electronic music.  It is certainly not something that I would feed on daily, but it certainly can get the juices flowing.

Digital Music

Rockin' rhythms, ever livin'
Beat is poundin', always givin'
Always jumpin'; always thumpin'
Hear the music as it's pumpin'
Digital is always playin'
But I can't hear what it's sayin'
Nerves are twitchin'; this is bitchin'
In the den and in the kitchen
Sounds are all that I am hearin'
But I love it and I'm cheerin'
Keep it goin', never stoppin'
As I'm twitchin' and I'm boppin'
Now I'm jumpin' and I'm swayin'
To the music I am prayin'
Hear the message it is pitchin'
I don't think that I am switchin'
No idea where I'm goin'
Or the seeds that I am sowin'
Yet I really love this drummin'
Play the music; keep it comin'.

David Pekrul was born in New Westminster, B. C. Canada.

He wrote his first poem in February, 2004, as an Anniversary card for his wife, Linda. Being rather pleased by the results of his first attempt, he wrote a second one, then another and another. He soon realized that he was in love with words.

The pictures that his words paint may not always be pretty, but they are pictures worth viewing, for he writes about the world around him, whether they be things good, bad or otherwise. He also writes about family, nature, God and faith.

His first poetry book, "Parts Of The Sum Volume One" has just been published and can be found at http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/3145051

David makes his home in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies with his wife Linda and spoiled pup, Tiki.
