Unseen Things

I find that what I don't see is often more profound than what I do see. No, I haven't become some sort of mystic, I just believe that God has created a universe far beyond what man can imagine, and that what I can see, touch, smell and taste is just the surface layer of what He has created.
Unseen Things
Look far beyond what you can see,
And you will find the truth,
Outside the realm of where you are,
And there you'll find the proof.
For what you see as being truth,
Will often be a lie,
And if you trust in earthly things,
They'll leave you high and dry.
For earthly treasures rust and rot,
And one day, fade away,
As everything is for a time,
And finally just decay.
So look beyond both time and space,
And look down deep inside,
And as you choose what you believe,
Let conscience be your guide.
Then travel onward; don't look back,
And never look around,
And you will find that unseen things,
Are really quite profound.
"Store your treasures in heaven,
where moths and rust cannot destroy,
and thieves do not break in and steal." Matthew 6:20
Amen! And the very best of all Unseen.... Jesus and some day!!!! MarijoYou got that right! Thanks for your comment.
Hi David I enjoyed this piece and wonder should we fear what lies under the surface of what God created at this present time that we cannot seeYou and yours keep wellKacyI don't think we need to fear what God created, as I believe He always wants what's best for us. I do believe, however, that we need to fear what man has created, or should I say, what he has messed up.I appreciate you commenting; it means a lot.
Nice job, David. It's easy to forget there is an entirely unseen world around us. Good reminder. And a huge world it is! Thanks for commenting on this piece.
Wonderful poem with great insight. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Linda D.Thanks Linda, and thanks for the five stars.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on such a real issue of our time and this season of Christmas with its tinsel and glitter. Thanks, Michael. Yes, Christmas on the surface is really superficial, but look at the real meaning, the unseen, and we can see why it is such a great time of year.
I am rereading your poem through the readers club. Just as enjoyable the 2nd time around. Thanks for reading this the second time. I didn't think anyone really did that :-)Much appreciated.
David, just when I think you can't get any better, you do! Wonderful poetry! Thank you for sharing it.Thanks, Lorrie, you're too kind. I have to say that I'm having a heck of a time trying to think of new poems to write. At one time they used to come so fast, but not anymore. I guess I should have asked for a load of inspiration as a Christmas gift :-)
Great article. To me it shows religion is beyond my worldly reality. Thanks for the comment, Daniel.
