My Favourite Actress

My daughter, Tanna Lynn, has always been a great dancer, actor and singer. I don't know where she got the talent from, as her mother and I both have left feet and neither can carry a tune in a bucket. She is also a very beautiful girl (must have gotten that from her mother) and was, at one time, considered for a modelling career.
Her acting started when she was in high school (she attended the Alberta High School of Fine Arts) and the school productions were amazing. They were so professional that the school drama class was able to obtain around $50,000.00 (fifty thousand dollars) in corporate donations each year. The school performed Broadway musicals, and Tanna started her first year doing background singing and dancing. Then in her second year she took a main part as 'Lola' in "Damn Yankees".
After high school she married and settled into married life. A year later she was offered a main part in a movie which was being done for a film festival. When she told me about it, I never gave it much thought, until her mother and I were invited to a theatre in Calgary, to watch the screening. I sat through the whole movie with tears in my eyes. It was such an amazing thing to see my little girl up there on the silver screen.
I don't think the movie won any awards, and I know it was never seen by general audiences, but still, there was my little girl, fulfilling her dreams and making her daddy proud.
She is now the mother of two beautiful little girls. She will probably never be on stage again, for she now has a more important role, one of mother and wife. But I will never forget the proud moment, when I sat in the theatre and
watched my favourite actress.
My Favourite Actress
She took my breath away.
I watched with admiration,
As she played her part today. There were many actors present,
And such talent one could tell,
But none could light the screen up
Like the girl I love so well.
No, she's not a famous actress,
Not like those in Hollywood,
And she'll never be well known,
Or respected as she should.
But she's still my favourite actress,
I'm the biggest fan there's been,
She's my pride and joy forever,
She's my daughter, Tanna Lynn.
