Just Like Daddy

The circumstances in the following poem might be exaggerated, but I think I make my point. Fathers are often their children's heros and as such they often want to emulate them. At the least, they watch what they do and how they live. Our actions as fathers is a responsibility that we should take very seriously.
Eating Pablum with a spoon,
Not right now, but very soon,
I will be a grownup boy,
In my Daddy's own saloon.
I see Daddy walk my way,
Watch him spin and watch him sway,
Watch him fall and then pass out,
It is such a great display.
I just want to be like him,
Fill my glass up to the brim,
Then go out and drive a car,
Risking both my life and limb.
Daddy's such a 'good ol' boy',
That the bosses won't employ,
Now he has a loaded gun,
Look, he has a brand new toy.
Daddy needs to have some cash,
So he does and 'smash and dash',
From the prison to the streets,
Eating food from dumpster trash.
Now he lives inside a box,
Smelly clothes and holey socks,
I just want to be like him,
Live my life down on the 'rocks'.
