I thought it was time to submit a couple "She done me wrong" poems. I got my inspiration from Country Western songs. Ain't that what their all about?

Too Much To Drink

You think I've had too much to drink?
Well, that is your opinion,
'Cause I don't think that I have even started.
You think that you can run around,
And I won't even notice,
Then come back home
And pick up where we parted.
Well, sister, I've got news for you,
That isn't how it's working,
You left this house,
Now you have made your bed.
Go back to him, away from me,
If that is how you want it,
'Cause from now on I'll think of me instead.

It didn't have to be this way,
But it was your decision.
I trusted you and look at where it got,
So from now on just stay away,
And leave me to my drinking,
And I'll decide what's too much,
And what's not.

Looking Back To Laugh

They say that one day we will laugh,
But I ain't laughing yet,
I gave you of my heart and soul,
And this is what I get.

You used it up and tossed it out,
Just like a piece of trash,
You said you loved and cherished me,
You're in it for the cash.

For someone said that I was rich,
A word you love so well,
I'd never let you get that close,
If only I could tell.

You used your charm to get to me,
Was nothing I could do,
And when you found out I was poor,
You said that we were through.

Well Baby, I've got news for you,
I'm richer than you think,
I found someone who needs just me,
And doesn't need a mink.

Now I am happy, how 'bout you?,
I really somehow doubt it,
Good luck in finding Mr. Right,
The way you go about it.

David Pekrul was born in New Westminster, B. C. Canada.

He wrote his first poem in February, 2004, as an Anniversary card for his wife, Linda. Being rather pleased by the results of his first attempt, he wrote a second one, then another and another. He soon realized that he was in love with words.

The pictures that his words paint may not always be pretty, but they are pictures worth viewing, for he writes about the world around him, whether they be things good, bad or otherwise. He also writes about family, nature, God and faith.

His first poetry book, "Parts Of The Sum Volume One" has just been published and can be found at http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/3145051

David makes his home in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies with his wife Linda and spoiled pup, Tiki.
