I Believe

We all have opinions of
For some think He's wrong and some think He's right,
And each one makes choices, some trust and believe,
While others reject Him, for they cannot see
That God really loves us and gave us His Son,
To bring us salvation, a victory He won
Over Satan's dark evil, (to Hell we would go),
But Christ gave His life so His children would know
That we've been forgiven for the things we have done,
When Christ took our sins, even though He had none.
It's Satan who tricked us; he said it was good
To live as we want to and not as we should,
It's God up in heaven who made all the rules,
For He's the Creator, the earth His footstool,
Some people may mock me and say I'm deceived,
But Christ is my Saviour, in Him I believe.

David, a poetic testimony. I'm with you. I believe! Actually, I was singing a song one day this week entitled, "I Believe." It came to my mind, suddenly. It's an old song. Do you know it? I think Elvis even recorded it. The lyrics are:
I believe for every drop of rain that falls a flower grows,
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night a candle glows.
I believe for everyone who goes astray,
Someone will come to show the way,
I believe, I believe.
I believe above a storm the smallest prayer, will still be heard,
I believe that Someone in the great somewhere hears every word.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,
Then I know why,
I believe!
I'm thankful to fellowship with other believers at SearchWarp. We're blessed. That's a great song and I do believe that Elvis sang it. I used to play it on my trumpet back in the days when I played a lot of solos in churches. I think I should dust off my trumpet and try playing it again.Oh David! If you do, please record and send it to me? My brother also blew the trumpet and did that one at church. These are great memories for me.
I am not surprised you knew it. Made me smile that you did.Avis, I think you have just challenged me to get off my butt, unpack that horn and see what I can do. I'm going to bookmark this page so I won't forget. I'll do some practicing and see what happens. I have a key to the church I attend and can use it during the week to practice in. It always sounds better in a big open place.Anyways, I'll let you know how it goes and maybe I'll send a recording, if only to show that I accepted your challenge.David, no pressure, honestly. If you are so moved to do this, I would be delighted. No time limit, just when and what you are led to do. Thanks.
David, another great message through poetry...you never ever disappoint me, and I am glad you posted this...have you ever heard the song "I am His, to Command"? One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard, I know the words by heart since I was 9. Great poem, wonderful message, you never disappoint me, ever. Your fan and friend in pen......Gary.Thanks Gary. This is another attempt of mine to write a sonnet-style poem.I haven't heard the song, but I'll look it up on the internet. Thanks.
