Gumpity Gump And Croakity Croak
Well, my two granddaughters keep asking Papa (me) to write another poem for them, so I took a try at writing another children's poem. I don't know how successful I was, but here it is. Gumpity Gump And Croakity Croak Sir Gumpity Gump was a frog in a stump, And he lived by a pond full of lilies, And he wore (posted by David 3 days 9 hours ago.)

A Smack On The Chin
I'm only a'good fer eight hours a day, I'm workin' fer twelve just a'makin' my pay, I'm tired an' I'm hungry, jus' wanna go lay, My bed is a'callin', wish there I could stay. Each One Has A Chair
I saw a King upon his throne, With jewels and regal ware, And as I looked upon the scene, I couldn't help but stare. For I was all but mesmerized, "Such elegance and flare," But then the more I thought of it, The throne was just a chair. A chair for rich and royalty, For powerful and fair, With privilege and authority, But it was just a chair. And then I thought of other ones, The ones so unawar (posted by David 56 days ago.)

Growing Old
This morning I went into a nursing home to pick up a person who had just died. Of course, that's nothing unusual for me to do; I do that almost every day. It's my job. But this morning I saw the place through different eyes. For the first time I noticed how unhappy everyone looked. They were sitting in wheel-chairs, each person with downcast eyes. No one was smiling nor even noticing others around them. They... (posted by David 78 days 9 hours ago.)

Ink On Paper (Love Letters)
On February 05, 2012 my wife, Linda, and I celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Where has the time gone?! It has been an interesting and wonderful 40 years; sometimes sad, sometimes happy, most times challenging, but always fulfilling. Linda and I dated for two years prior to getting married. At the time, I lived in a small town outside Vancouver, British Columbia. Linda lived in a small town... (posted by David 124 days 11 hours ago.)

Someone Pulled The Plug
I sit upon my mountaintop and view the world below, and wonder how it came to be that I would truly know, that what I have and what I am, is all of my own doing, and those below are not like me; I know, for I am viewing a very simple, awkward race of people most inferior, and that is on the surface, having not seen the interior. I am much better than the rest, a most outstanding person, and... (posted by David 143 days 7 hours ago.)
